What a U-bolt is — and where KP fits
A U-bolt is a U-shaped threaded fastener with two parallel legs, used to clamp a pipe, round bar, or square section against a support plate or back plate using two nuts. The round-bend (semicircular) form is the pipe-clamp U-bolt covered by DIN 3570; the square-bend form has two right-angle bends and a flat base for clamping flat and rectangular sections.

KP Fasteners bends and threads U-bolts in-house at a single-site plant in Ghanshyam Industrial Estate, Ahmedabad. Round bar is cut, threaded to IS 1367 tolerance, bent to the ordered radius or inside width, and finished to the specified coating line. Each lot is dimensionally inspected and ships with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certification on request.
We supply piping contractors, PEB and solar fabricators, water and process-plant EPCs, and automotive fabricators across India, with dispatch from Ahmedabad pan-India via road and rail partners.
Standards we manufacture against
Round-bend pipe-clamp U-bolts follow DIN 3570 shape references; all other shapes are made to the customer drawing. We do not publish invented proof-load values — mating nuts follow IS 1363 / DIN 934.

Coatings & finishes offered
Coating is selected by exposure. HDG or stainless is our default for outdoor and wet pipe routing.
Hot-Dip Galvanised (HDG)
Zinc dip to ASTM A153 / IS 2629 — the default for outdoor pipe racks and exposed structural clamping.
Zinc Electroplating
Trivalent passivated zinc for indoor pipe supports and short-term outdoor exposure.
Stainless Steel (SS 304 / 316)
Inherent corrosion resistance for coastal, water and chemical-plant pipe routing; no coating required.
Black Oxide / Self-Colour
As-rolled or black finish for dry indoor duty or where the clamp is subsequently painted.

Round-bend (pipe) U-bolts
- Pipe outside diameter or nominal bore (NB).
- Rod diameter of the U-bolt (M8, M10, M12…).
- Thread length per leg and coating.
- Quantity per size and nut/washer requirement.
Square-bend & special U-bolts
- Inside width and height of the section clamped.

- Leg / tangent length for thick supports.

What standard do KP Fasteners’ U-bolts comply with?
Round-steel pipe-clamp U-bolts are manufactured to DIN 3570 shape and dimensional references. We also make U-bolts to customer drawings where a pipe OD, nominal bore (NB) or special bend radius is specified. Mating hex nuts follow IS 1363 / DIN 934.
What is the difference between a round-bend and a square-bend U-bolt?
A round-bend (semicircular) U-bolt wraps a pipe or round bar and is the DIN 3570 pipe-clamp form. A square-bend U-bolt has two 90° bends and a flat base, used to clamp square or rectangular sections, leaf springs and channel. Both are threaded on each leg to take two nuts.
How do I size a U-bolt?
Specify the pipe outside diameter (or nominal bore), the rod diameter of the U-bolt itself (e.g. M8, M10, M12), the thread length on each leg, and the coating. For square-bend types, give the inside width and height. Send the pipe schedule or a sketch and we confirm the bend dimensions on the quote.
Which materials and coatings do you offer?
Mild steel to IS 2062, high-tensile carbon steel, and stainless steel grades SS 304 and SS 316 for corrosive or coastal duty. Standard finishes are self-colour (black), zinc electroplating, and hot-dip galvanising to IS 2629 / ASTM A153 for outdoor pipe racks.
Do you provide mill test certificates, and can you supply to a BOQ?
